Fletcher beach volleyball wins FHSAA title, completes perfect season

Fletcher capped its year as Northeast Florida's first-ever Florida High School Athletic Association beach volleyball state champion, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas in the Class 3A final on May 9.

The Senators won 3-0 across the five doubles matchups at Florida State University's courts in Tallahassee, closing a 20-0 season. Victory on line five secured the historic championship in the sport, which first received official FHSAA status in 2022.

Fletcher finished the regionals at second in the MaxPreps national rankings, behind only Berkeley Prep of Tampa. Berkeley Prep eliminated Episcopal in the Class 1A semifinal round on May 8.

Fletcher joinsRaines, in football, as Gateway Conference schools to win FHSAA team championships thus far in the 2025-26 school year. Last year, Fletcher had qualified for Northeast Florida's first-ever beach volleyball final but lost 3-2 to Jupiter.

The Senators include multiple players committed to Division I volleyball, including two each for Jacksonville University and Stetson.
