Fans of Nobody Wants This certainly turned heads when it was revealed that Adam Brody's real-life wife was joining the show.
Leighton Meester stars alongside Brody, 45, in the newly dropped season of Netflix's beloved rom-com series, and one of their co-stars is speaking out about what it was like seeing them work together on set.
"They're such a loving couple with each other. There's clearly so much affection between them," Justine Lupe recently told People. "It was very sweet to see the level of support that they each gave each other on set."
Lupe, 36, plays the sister of star Kristen Bell's embattled character in a standout role following her turn in Succession on HBO. She opened up to People about her experience shooting season 2 of Nobody Wants This, now available on Netflix, and how it felt behind-the-scenes witnessing a married couple portraying characters who have never met.
"It's also kind of trippy to see them pretending to meet each other for the first time, and you're like, 'Whoa. You guys are so intimate,'" Lupe told the magazine.
Brody and Meester, 39, have been married since 2014 and share two children.
Lupe continued, "Leighton, she's just so fun, and goofy, and unafraid, and just dove right into a pretty far-out character without any abandon, and was very goofy. I love it. I just think she's brilliant on the show, so it was a treat to have her there."
The hit Netflix series, created by Erin Foster, follows the relationship between an agnostic podcaster and a hot rabbi, played by Bell, 45, and Brody, respectively.
"This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy," Foster previously told Tudum. "But I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there's nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard."
