Chris Evert became a mother in 1991, two years after she retired from tennis
She and her ex-husband Andy Mill share three children: Alex, Nicholas and Colton
Evert became a first-time grandmother when her son Nicholas welcomed a child with his wife in 2024
In addition to a number of world championship wins under her belt, Chris Evert is also a mom to three kids.
Known as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Evert revolutionized the sport by playing mostly from the baseline of the tennis court. Her then-unique style earned her five years as the No. 1-ranked tennis player in the world — including being the first woman to ever achieve this honor with the WTA — and the most French Open titles of all time with seven.
Evert married two-time Olympian downhill skier Andy Mill in 1988, prior to retiring from tennis in 1989. Mill and Evert welcomed their first child, Alex, in 1991, followed by sons Nicholas in 1994 and Colton in 1996.
"The best thing about being Chris Evert are my boys and being a mother," she told We Are Tennis in February 2025. "I love my boys ... that's been the highlight of my life."

With two successful athletes as parents, there was never a doubt that Evert's three sons would be raised playing sports and enjoying outdoor activities.
The retired tennis star told Sports Illustrated in 2006 that her Florida home had everything from dirt bikes and lacrosse sticks to skateboards and paintball artillery.
"It's, um, an active household," Evert said. "But I think I was meant to be a mother of boys. They're not high maintenance. They don't fight over flowery dresses. They have one favorite T-shirt and a favorite pair of pants, and that's it. If I had a little Chrissie, I'd be too critical."
Alex has worked as his mom's tennis broadcasting partner

While none of Evert's sons have followed in her footsteps as tennis stars, her eldest, Alex, has joined her during broadcasts.
Ahead of the 2024 US Open semifinals, which saw three-time Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka face off against Emma Navarro, Evert asked Alex for his insight on the matchup.
"Well, I think the thing about Sabalenka is her power and her ground strokes," Alex said. "It's like if she plays at 100%, she's going to beat anyone in the world. [If] she plays 75%, it could be a short night for her because Navarro's playing [is] unbelievable."
Evert then asked Alex what he thought Navarro needed to do to be able to win the matchup.
"She has to be consistent … She has to bother Sabalenka," Alex continued. "Either way I think it's going to be a great match."
Evert became a grandmother in 2024

In May 2024, Evert announced on Instagram that Nicholas and his wife, Rebecca, had welcomed their son Hayden, making Evert a grandmother. Since then, Evert has continued to share updates of Hayden on social media, from his first steps to family fishing trips.
In 2025, she spoke with We Are Tennis about how becoming a grandmother has added new joy to her life.
"My grandchild Hayden is, wow … everyone kept saying, 'Wait until you have a grandchild,' " Evert said. "I thought nothing can top having a child. But having a grandchild is double the fun, because you're also seeing your son being a father."
Colton leads a more private life

While Colton stays out of the spotlight, he has joined his mom on a number of occasions. In 2012, Colton attended the Legends Ball in support of the International Tennis Hall of Fame alongside his mom and two brothers.
Five years later, Colton was by his family's side at the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic gala in Boca Raton, Fla.
Nicholas has a podcast with his father

While Alex may share a passion for tennis with Evert, Nicholas is fond of the outdoors and fishing with his father. So much so that the two started a podcast called Mill House Podcast, which delves into fishing among other topics.
"With a passion for storytelling, Mill House is more than a fishing podcast. Comprised of in-depth conversations with innovators, legends, and pioneers of the outdoors, we expose untold and compelling stories from industry leaders," the podcast's official description reads.
Evert's sons are her biggest support system

While Evert's sons may not have been born during her tennis career, they've been supportive of Evert in her many post-career endeavors — including her charity work.
To that end, her kids were by her side during an event in 2016 that aimed to raise money to prevent drug abuse.
"Love having the support of my boys at this event... My charity is about drug abuse prevention through education & resources, but also about making families healthier and stronger," Evert wrote on Instagram at the time.
Likewise, Evert's kids have posted about their admiration and appreciation for her, including a sweet birthday tribute from Alex in 2024.
"Happy birthday to my beautiful mom @chrissieevert ! Words cannot describe how much myself, your family, friends, and everyone you touch in life loves you. You hold everything together for myself and so many people. I could go on and on but I hope you have an amazing day and even a better year. We love you mom ❤️💚," Alex wrote on Instagram.
