Contestant Jacob Ryan Gustafson proposes on 'The Voice' stage in the Sept. 23 episode
Best failed audition ever.
The second episode of the show's signature Blind Auditions on The Voice featured contestant Jacob Ryan Gustafson, 35, of Yucaipa, Calif.
The contestant sang "Spin You Around" by Morgan Wallen, but neither Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, nor Michael Bublé chose to turn their red chairs.
Horan, at least, said he had regrets once the song was over.
"I've gotta be honest with you, bro," Horan said. "I was so close. If I could press it now, I would."
Meanwhile, Snoop noted that he would be watching to see what Gustafson does: "And I do have a record label, too, so we may be able to work out a few things."
As if that weren't exciting enough, Gustafson also made a big move, asking to bring his supportive girlfriend, Jennifer, on stage with him.
"This life is a beautiful life, and I'm so blessed," he began and turned to his girlfriend. "And, even right now, if I could change anything, the only thing I'd change is your last name."
The bride-to-be could tell what was happening, which immediately sent her into tears. All four coaches went onstage to congratulate the couple.
Bublé told him, "Ok, so you won The Voice!"

He then told the camera, "The person he wanted most said yes."

'The Voice' coaches for season 28 are Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé
Also on the episode, contestant Ryan Mitchell, a 25-year-old from Los Angeles, who failed to impress any of the coaches earlier, returned to the stage. Mitchell was the recipient of the Carson Callback, which allowed him to take 24 hours and choose another song.
His first audition was the song "Cigarette Daydreams" by Cage the Elephant. In his second go at it, he chose a real crowd-pleaser: "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears, but he sang it as a haunting ballad. It worked for at least one coach, McEntire, who turned her chair this time.
The country music star said she thought she was "losing my mind," because she recognized Mitchell when she saw him. She was "thrilled to death" to have him on her team, after Daly explained that his new Carson Callback allows him to grant a second chance for a contestant he believes the coaches overlooked.
Auditions on The Voice continue Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
