Actress Julia Roberts—who is currently in Venice, Italy, for the Venice Film Festival promoting her new film, After the Hunt—stunned fans on Aug. 29 when she shared a rare look at her longtime romance with husband Danny Moder.
Roberts took to Instagram on Friday to share a snap taken in Venice on a boat ride, with the 57-year-old and her husband cuddling together on a bench in the night. In the photo, Moder was sitting up on the bench, looking off to the side, with Roberts lying down with the upper half of her body in her husband's lap.
The two had their arms around one another, with Roberts' head tucked under Moder's chin. Roberts even had her legs and feet curled up on the bench, relaxing in Moder's embrace. The Oscar-winning actress wrote the simple yet telling message in the caption, "Venice 🥰."

While Moder has not attended any of the red carpets at the 2025 Venice Film Festival with his wife, the cinematographer appeared to be in Italy to support her as she promotes the new movie directed by Luca Guadagnino.

Roberts and Moder Tend to Keep Their Love Private
Despite the fact that Roberts and Moder have been married since 2002, the couple has always kept their love under the radar. Moder and Roberts occasionally share photos and videos from their home life on social media for special occasions and meaningful moments.
In early July, Moder posted one of those rare personal updates to celebrate the couple's 23rd wedding anniversary, declaring, "23 years is SILVER..here we are in my engraved SPOON! the fun continues… and a happy 4th to all💥." In the silly yet sweet photo, the celebrity couple could be seen posing for a selfie in the reflection of the spoon.

Moder and Roberts got married on her property in Taos, N.M., in a short and simple ceremony surrounded by loved ones. The couple welcomed their twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, in 2004, while their third child, a son named Henry, was born in 2007.
Like with their romance, Roberts and Moder also keep their life with their kids very private, generally only sharing photos for major milestones. For example, earlier this year, Moder shared a rare photo of Roberts with their three kids for Mother's Day.
