Two children were orphaned after a single-vehicle rollover crash on New Year's Day morning killed their parents, the Colorado State Patrol reported. The crash occurred around 9:46 a.m. on U.S. Highway 36 near Lefthand Canyon Drive in Altona, north of Boulder. According to the agency's press release, a northbound Jeep crossed the center grass median, rolled over, and came to rest in the southbound lanes of the highway. The driver and an adult passenger, both parents of the two other passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene.
