We're not complete without this cult classic! When Edward Scissorhands first premiered in December 1990, it marked the first of many Tim Burton films starring Johnny Depp as a gentle, scissor-handed humanoid. The tale follows Edward as he attempts to integrate into picture-perfect suburbia after being taken in by well-meaning mom and Avon lady Peg Boggs (Dianne Weist). A critical and financial success, the gothic film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Makeup and Depp a Golden Globe nod for best actor in a motion picture - comedy or musical in 1991.
