Who knew a simple sneeze could attract so much judgment? Tassie’s human barely gets a sneeze started before her cat gives her a look that could stop the whole thing in its tracks. The Grey Tabby, featured on Instagram account @tassie.is.a.cat, is lounging comfortably near her human’s legs when she points the camera at herself, looking ready to sneeze. The next shot reveals Tassie’s response: narrowed eyes, twitching whiskers, and an expression of deep personal disappointment. His human tries to hold the sneeze back, but he doesn’t look impressed. A cough only makes things worse.
Cat’s grumpy expression makes each sneeze seem like a personal insult
The video’s text sets up the joke with “Every time I sneeze,” followed by “My cat judges” as Tassie appears on screen. His owner explained in the caption that her cat has an angry face and this is how he reacts when you’re about to sneeze or cough.
And the face really does change the whole scene. Tassie watches his human with his eyes reduced to thin slits, his whiskers twitching as she tries to hold back the sneeze. When she coughs, he turns his head to stare directly at her, looking even less pleased with the situation.
His human tries the same routine again, briefly showing her face before swinging the camera back toward Tassie. She can’t hold in her laughter at his reaction.
