Taylor Swift had a fangirl moment when a member of Backstreet Boys delivered a playful nod to one of her songs.

The pop star couldn't contain her excitement after AJ McLean posted a video of him vibing and jamming to a mashup featuring a song from her album The Life of a Showgirl.

In an Instagram post, the 47-year-old singer shared his reaction as he listened to "Elizabeth Taylor" and the boyband's classic "Everybody."

"Come on now you know one of us had to!" he wrote, tagging the "Cruel Summer" songstress.

The video immediately caught the attention of the music sensation, prompting her to gush over the comment section.

"OH HI AJ OH MY GOD," she said.

Swift's reaction garnered tons of feedback from fans encouraging them to collaborate.

"@taylorswift @aj_mclean please get together to make this an official Spotify mashup that we can all stream," one wrote.

"@taylorswift please make this happen!!" a commenter added.

Fans, especially the millennials who loved the mashup, can relate to the award-winning singer's reaction.

"As a fellow 1989 born woman, I can feel your excitement!" a fan said.

"collaborate this for real!! The millennial swifties will die for sure with this golden pop mashup!" a follower echoed.

Based on the comments, the mashup was created by Lydia Getachew, who put together the songs after noticing the striking resemblance between the '90s boyband's track and Swift's.

"My brain immediately heard the drop in Elizabeth Taylor and I was like wait the bass is giving a drop in BSB...lo&behold, Max Martin produced both songs!" she wrote, with the link of the full mashup in her bio.

On social media, fans have shared their own versions of mashups featuring the songs of the "Bad Blood" singer from her latest album.

In one post, a content creator made a video showcasing mashups of "Opalite" with Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" and Post Malone's "Circles."

Another viral post on TikTok featured a social media user doing "every song" from The Life of a Showgirl sung in one minute, from "The Fate of Ophelia" to "Ruin the Friendship" and more.

Since the release of the 35-year-old singer's 12th studio album, it has created a huge buzz on social media, trending across Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, as well as dominating the music charts, landing as the biggest debut of 2025 with four million units sold, as cited by Billboard.
