Dacre Montgomery stepped out for an appearance at the Venice International Film Festival this week looking much different than he did during his Stranger Things days.

In new photos from the film festival's red carpet in Venice, Italy on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Australian actor opted for an edgy all-black outfit, making for a sophisticated look with a dark and mysterious flair.

Montgomery, 30, gave a brooding look to the camera in many of the photos from Tuesday's event, where he attended a screening for his new movie, Dead Man's Wire.

The actor was dressed in a dark-colored suit lined with silk lapels and an unbuttoned collared shirt underneath to reveal the skin on his chest, accessorized with a small pendant necklace.

His suit was fastened with silk ties on one side, while he added a pair of matching dark pants and plain black shoes to complete the sleek-looking 'fit.

Montgomery rose to fame with his role as Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things, first appearing in the show's second season back in 2017. Aside from his breakout role in the Netflix sci-fi series, Montgomery has also been featured in a number of movies, including 2022's Elvis, 2024's Went Up the Hill and 2025's What We Hide.

His attendance at this year's Venice International Film Festival is in support of the new film Dead Man's Wire, directed by Gus Van Sant. The historical crime film is based on the true story of kidnapper Tony Kiritsis, played by Bill Skarsgård, and also stars Al Pacino, Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes and more.
