A high-speed bullet train from Los Angeles to Las Vegas has taken the next step to becoming reality with the project announcing it is raising $2.5billion from private investors and it hopes full construction will begin this year. Brightline West, billionaire investor Wes Edens' 218-mile rail project, is raising the money from private investors with a tax-exempt bond offering. 'Full-scale construction should get underway this year,' the company's Senior Vice President for corporate affairs, Ben Porritt, told Forbes.
