Kia recalls 80,000 cars over seat belt and airbag safety fears with young passengers most at risk


Kia has issued a recall for more than 80,000 electric and hybrid vehicles that may have faulty wiring that could affect airbag deployment and put children at risk. The recall includes 80,255 Niro Electric Vehicles (EVs), Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs) and Hybrids (HEVs), according to a January 17 document filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). All the included cars were manufactured between August 10, 2022 and December 13, 2024, NBC reported.
