A first-of-its-kind global study has revealed new details about colon cancer patients under the age of 35, who are increasingly being diagnosed with the disease. While there has been widely reported data on those under 50 — who are considered 'early-onset' cases — the researchers behind the sprawling new analysis say there has been a lack of studies into the 'very young.' The new report found rates of disease in people under 35 nearly doubled from 1990 to 2019, from 21,000 to 41,000, while deaths rose 25 percent spike.
