A DRIVER claimed she was wrongfully towed after paying for eight hours of parking during a city's major event.

Initially, the private parking company attempted to ignore her calls – but a call from the media set things straight.

She tried to call the parking company, but she never received a response[/caption]

Lydia Washington was scheduled to work a booth at this year's Fiesta event in San Antonio, Texas.

When she pulled into a lot owned by Parking Management Company (PMC) based in Tennessee, she followed the posted instructions and paid almost $50 to park her car for eight hours via text.

When she returned to her car after a long day, her car was missing.

She called Bexlar Towing, the company that was authorized to tow her vehicle, and explained that she'd paid for parking and had the receipts to prove it.

Her car, she was told, was not listed on their roster for vehicles that paid for parking.

The towing company told her the resolution wouldn't come from them but from PMC.

They also said she was still responsible for the $200 towing fee.

"She basically just said, 'If you want your car you're going to have to pay the fee,' I kept saying, but this is an error," she told NBC affiliate WOAI.

Without a car, she called PMC – but her emails went unanswered.

Calling proved to be fruitless, too.

"It was busy constantly, beep, beep, beep, I mean it was impossible," recalled Washington.

That's when she turned to WOAI's investigative team, who contacted PMC on her behalf.

Their phone calls went unanswered, but the company did respond via text.

"Thanks again for bringing this to our attention," their response read.

"Apparently, the license plate was entered incorrectly. Ms. Washington was refunded the parking charge and the towing charge."

Washington didn't comment about the information being entered incorrectly, but she was happy the towing company refunded her money.

"I cannot thank you guys enough," she said.

"I mean I was so surprised that you were able to get this resolved so quickly."
