Legendary 70s musician tragically passes away just weeks before tour as 'heartbroken' bandmates and fans pay tribute
Gang of Four bassist Dave Allen has sadly passed away his 'heartbroken' bandmates announced in a statement, just weeks before the group's US tour. Dave, who retired from the British punk band's line-up in 2008, died on Saturday aged 69 surrounded by his wife and children after battling early-onset dementia. Alongside a slew of photos of the late musician, Hugo Burnham and John King penned: 'It is with broken yet full hearts that we share the news that Dave Allen, our old music partner, friend, and brilliant musician, died on Saturday morning'.
